Sims 2 flashing purple floors need help?

hi i have just installed sims 2 and all the expansion and stuff pack on my computer and when i enter the neighbourhood the fllors and landscape are all flashing purple plz help.

Sims 2 flashing purple floors need help?
Either your game crashed and the floors are not rendering or your video card is too old or does not have the capability to render the graphics required for the floor in the game. You can always upgrade you graphics card at least for this game it doesn't require the most high end graphics, it should be a cheap upgrade.
Reply:I have experienced weird effects, but usually, leaving the program, but no exiting it by pressing the windows icon and than going back in after around 30 seconds works. Otherwise, since your graphics card is a bit...odd and the memory is low, that may be the issue.
